Inspired by graph notebook paper, a check is hand-woven through our mulmul shirt by artisans in the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, supported by the Kala Swaraj Foundation. Contrasting embroidery and hand-faggoting connecting the arms and body recall the intricate stitches of hand-bound books. Gentle gathers at the front and back yoke carry subtle volume. With selvedge edges at the hem.
